The selected Subcontractor is responsible for providing all labor, operators, materials, software, and computing resources to conduct finite element simulations evaluating the performance of the NYSDOT mid-tension cable median guide rail system with intermediate anchorage under MASH TL-3 pickup truck and small car impacts. This includes constructing models representing the barrier system, simulating impacts at designated departure angles, performing design revisions and additional simulations as needed, and generating required deliverables. Deliverables include a technical memorandum with simulation results, a comprehensive FEA report, and participation in progress teleconferences. All work and equipment shall comply with applicable standards, especially MASH and NYSDOT requirements. The Subcontractor must be experienced with finite element crash simulation of roadside safety systems, possess appropriate certifications, and utilize LS-DYNA for modeling and analysis. Extensive high-performance computing resources and adherence to best practices for model development, verification, and validation are required. Proposals must include a detailed schedule with milestones and deliverable dates, and be submitted by the specified deadline. Only written addenda will provide bid information or interpretation. Any communications outside official channels may result in disqualification. The contract term is four months.
