The price bid for Bid Item No. 01 shall include all of the following Remove and salvage 4 signal heads from an existing mast arm. Power to the heads will be de-energized by the City. Remove existing mast arm and signal pole and all wire within the pole and mast arm. After removal, the pole and mast arm shall be removed from the site and shall become the property of the Contractor. Grind or chip existing footing to 12" below existing grade. Install one new signal pole concrete foundation, as per the maps included herein. The foundation shall be drilled/bored and casings/sonotubes shall be used so as to minimize the area of disturbance and size of the excavation. All foundation materials, including anchor bolts and conduits, shall be provided by the Contractor. The City will verify orientation of anchor bolts prior to placement of concrete. Concrete testing, including cylinders, will be completed by the City. The City will verify 7-day break strength prior to approving signal pole installation. Install signal pole, mast arm, and salvaged heads. The signal pole, mast arm, and associated hardware, will be provided by the City. The City will complete all wiring and energize the signal heads. Provide all traffic control for detours and lane closures, as per the maps included herein. The Contractor shall provide detailed digital traffic control plans, showing all traffic control devices. All traffic control devices shall conform to the requirements for construction signing in the current edition of the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. These plans shall be provided to the City for review and approval, at least 5 business days in advance of the work to be performed. Provide all restoration. Restore the site to pre-construction conditions. MDOT 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction shall be followed in addition to specifications included herein. Where conflicts exist, contact the City for clarification. All bid prices shall include all costs related to travel, food and lodging, as the city does not pay per diems. All work shall be provided according to the Project Schedule, included herein. All demolished materials including, but not limited to, pipe, soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt shall be removed from the project site and disposed of immediately by the Contractor, with the exception of materials that will be reclaimed. All costs related to the removal and disposal of materials shall be considered incidental to the contract. Reference Number 0000402557 Bid Intent Not Available The signal pole at the northeast corner of Washington Street and S. Saginaw Road was struck during an automobile accident in March of 2025. The City has ordered and received a new signal pole and mast arm to replace the damaged one. The City is soliciting bids for the installation of the new signal pole and mast arm.
