This program replaces aging water mains experiencing an abnormal number of water main breaks in the distribution system. Undersized water mains (1-1/2 inch to 4-inch diameter) are replaced with larger mains or mains. Replacement is completed in coordination with the City's Street Rehabilitation Program. In 2026, this program will be funded with the Water Utility operating budget ($4,200,000) and the Water Utility borrowing ($600,000). As of October 29, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2025-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). It is an on-going, city-wide project. The 2025 portion has been completed. Another contract will begin in the spring of 2026.
