Building Demolition and Interior Renovation at 705 Oakwood Avenue Includes abatement and remediation of building. Demolition of the newer building additions as shown on design documents and renovation of original building garage bays portion of the original building. New office area, and restroom. Includes all new MEP related systems for renovation of building to remain. The existing mezzanine, upper floor level of garage shall be removed and as the garage bays below are to remain, must be made safe, weathertight, prior to new wood roof trusses installed as new roof above. The scope of work includes the following, site work, utility service work and re-work to extend into remaining building from existing site buried services currently feeding building. The work will be separated into two Phases, first phase to include all work related to abatement and demolition, Second Phase to include renovation of interior and exterior of existing building to remain Entire project shall be approx. 3 months of construction Please refer to the complete design documents for thorough scope of work to be included in Bid. The towns plan is to construct new building work, Phase 2 at continuous pace, and completed ahead of winter period Contractors shall provide a construction schedule showing calendar days for project duration that can be supported during bid interview stage. As this project is specialized combination of demolition / renovation, General Contractors previous construction project history /resume are important and similar type project history will be reviewed All questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to procurement@westhartfordct.gov by November 11, 2025. All Bidders must file with their bid a bid bond, certified or treasurer's check in the amount of 10% of the total of the base bid made payable to the Town of West Hartford. Performance and Labor and Material Payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder if the contract pursuant to this request for bids exceeds $50,000.00. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of bids without the approval and written consent of the Town of West Hartford.
