Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Radnor Township, Illinois. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The County Board approved a Phase I Preliminary Engineering Agreement on February 8, 2024, for the project. The Phase I agreement was used to choose an adjusted centerline alignment, choose a structure type, and to perform Environmental and Cultural studies. The new alignment will be shifted approximately 50’ west of the old road, and a three-sided structure similar to a culvert will be installed to replace the existing bridge. This resolution allows Peoria County to enter into a Phase II Preliminary Engineering Agreement. The Phase II agreement will be used to complete the final design plans and to prepare the project for bid letting in October 2026. The project is included in the County's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of November 1, 2025, per county, a preliminary engineering services agreement has been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
