SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION DATE: July 10, 2026 FINAL COMPLETION DATE: July 31, 2026 Labor on this project shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce for Lorain County. Bids must be accompanied by Certified Check or Cashier's Check or Letter of Credit equals to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, or a bond for the full amount of the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and a performance bond properly secured. Should any bid be rejected, such instrument will be forthwith returned upon proper execution of a contract. Cash deposits will not be accepted. The Director of Safety/ Service reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The total estimated construction cost - Base Bid of $145,068.00 Q/A :- If a Bidder contemplating submitting a Bid for the proposed Project is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Contract Documents, it may submit a written request for an interpretation thereof to City of Lorain, Engineering Department in writing on the form included with the Contract Documents. Inquiries shall be emailed to Jessica_Potter@cityoflorain.org to the attention of Jessica Potter. The City will make any interpretation of the proposed documents by Addendum only, duly signed by the City, and a copy of such Addendum will be mailed or delivered to each Bidder receiving a set of Contract Documents and each plan room where the City maintains the Contract Documents. The City will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents. The City of Lorain, OH is seeking an outside contractor to replace fencing at the property between East 36th Street, Plant Street, and Fulton Road in Lorain, OH. Contractor is to remove existing fencing and entrance gate and install replacement fencing. Contractor must provide all labor, materials, and accessories necessary for the project. Existing fencing and gate are chain link style with barbed wire top and roughly 1325' in length. Replacement fencing length, including replacement gate, needed to meet project requirements will be approximately 775' in length and not to exceed 850'. Material used for the replacement fencing must be Elite Fence Products, Inc. or equivalent, EFS-66 industrial grade, 8' tall, black, industrial aluminum fencing with curved top, or like-inkind without sacrificing security or quality. Fencing material must comply with all applicable American Standards for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) standards. Contractor must include (1) 8'H by 16'W manual double gate (opening outwardly) to allow vehicle access. Disposal of existing fencing is to be included in the scope of the project. Contractor must make every effort to not allow gaps in fencing during the project to best protect from unauthorized access to the property. Contractor will be responsible for spreading or scattering dirt dug out from holes. Contractor will be responsible for all costs associated with any underground utility damage so long as they are properly marked upon the start of the project. Contractor must meet or exceed fencing manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Contractor must provide a 5-year workmanship warranty. Replacement fence manufacturer must provide a minimum 10-year warranty covering the following, at minimum: materials, paint finish cracks, chips, and peels. The City will be responsible for having underground utilities marked prior to the start of the project. The City will be responsible for marking the property for the desired replacement fencing layout prior to the start of the project.
