Site work for a multi-residential development in Wytheville, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade multi-residential development.

The work includes construction of the Early Site Package phase of the Monroe North Apartments project. This phase consists primarily of earthwork, utility installation, limited site improvements, and related appurtenances necessary to prepare the site for future building construction, as shown on the "Monroe North Apartments" plans prepared by Hurt & Proffitt, Inc., and as described in the contract documents. The contract will be awarded on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Bidders must submit proof of qualifications and bid security as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bids must be placed in a sealed envelope with the appropriate contractor license number (Class A or Class B) indicated. This is a federally assisted project, and bidders and contractors are bound by relevant federal requirements, including those under various federal acts and executive orders. Not less than minimum wages set forth in the contract documents must be paid. The Town of Wytheville reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Equal Opportunity requirements apply. Question Deadline 11/25/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered 1) Demolition & Clearing: All items shown and noted on C200 Demolition Plan, except for Demolition Key Note #5 overhead electric line removal is by utility owner. Contractor's work is coordination with utility owner. Also, existing house and associated appurtenances have already been removed. Contractor responsible for demolition and removal of any remaining foundation or house remnants. 2) Site Features: The following work shown on C300 Site Layout and C301 Site Details: a) Curb and gutter installation at the perimeter ofthe site, specifically along N. 16th Street, W. North Street, N. 14th Street, and W. Monroe Street. Excluded are proposed VDOT CG-9D gutters and VDOT CG-12B curb ramps on N. 16th Street and N. 14th Street. b) Paving ofthe proposed 6-inch VDOT #2IB stone over compacted subgrade, for Light Duty Pavement and Heavy Duty Pavement. 3) Grading: Mass grading as shown and noted on C400 Grading & Drainage Plan. Includes the following work: a) Compaction Testing according to Plans and Technical Specification 31 23 00 Section 3.7 b) Elevations at proposed building pads to be one (1) foot below finished floor elevation. c) Excludes grading for Dry Pond embankment and cut offtrench. 4) Storm Sewer: Install all proposed storm sewer pipes and structures on C400 Grading & Drainage Plans, detailed on C402 & C403 Grading & Drainage Details, and shown on C404 Storm Sewer Profiles; except for the following: a) Pipe 101-102 b) Structure 102 (concrete riser) c) All underdrains and structures in the Bioretention Filter. d) All roof downspouts, leaders, and pipes from proposed building footprints to the Dry Pond location. 5) Erosion and Sediment Controls: Install and maintain all proposed Phase I and Phase II erosion and sediment control measures as shown and detailed on C500-C505 Erosion & Sediment Control Plans, Details, and Notes; except for Phase II Sequence of Construction items 9-15. 6) Water Distribution: Install all proposed domestic and fire water lines, vaults, wet taps, and valves as shown on the C600 Site Utility Plan, detailed on C601-C603 Utility Details, and shown on C604 Site Utility Profiles; except for service lines to the proposed buildings. Cap water mains at valves at proposed connection to service lines. Include proposed valves and tees for fire hydrants, but exclude above-ground hydrant assemblies. 7) Sanitary Sewer: Install all proposed sanitary sewer pipes, structures, and tie-ins to within five (5) feet of proposed building footprints as shown on C600 Site Utility Plan, detailed on C601-C603 Utility Details, and C604 Site Utility Profiles. Include cleanouts, properly protected. 8) Pressure Testing: Coordinate with Town according to Technical Specification 33 03 00 Section 3.4 for water distribution and sanitary sewer. 9) Electrical & Telecommunications: Install all proposed buried electrical conduits as shown on C600 Site Utility Plan. Install electrical and telecommunications conduits onto site as needed for future buildings, coordinating with utility providers. See allowance shown on Bid Form 00 41 00. 10) Project Sign: Install the required project sign per CDBG requirements in section 00 72 10.
