Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Cairo, Georgia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,300-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility.

**As of January 22, 2026, project was awarded, start date is within the next 30 days and last for 180 days** Qualified bidders are invited to submit bids for the construction of a new 3300 square foot building on an existing partially cleared site. The structure will be a pre-engineered metal building system with metal roof, walls, and soffit panels. Work includes installation of aluminum store entrance and punched windows, metal doors and frames, and a coiling door. The interior will have non-loading metal studs, gypsum board, flush wood doors, architectural cabinets, suspended acoustical ceilings, floor finishes, and painting. Building systems include plumbing for accessible toilets and lavatories, a complete HVAC system, electrical system including fire alarm, low voltage components, and emergency power generator. Site work will involve minor clearing and demolition, site grading and structural building fill, concrete and asphaltic pavements, concrete walks, and planting and grassing. Bids must be prepared in compliance with the provided Instructions to Bidders. Sealed bids must include bid security equal to 5 percent of the bid amount and cannot be withdrawn for 60 days following the bid opening. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain required insurance and bonds. A performance bond, labor and material payment bond, and insurance acceptable to the owner will be required of the successful bidder. Printed or online procurement and contracting documents can be obtained after the specified release date by contacting the architect. Only complete sets of documents will be provided to prime bidders. The successful bidder must begin work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and complete work within the established contract time. This project is subject to Buy America requirements and funded by a grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The contractor and all subcontractors must comply with the Davis Bacon Act and are encouraged to engage Section 3 residents and business concerns from the area. Opportunities for local employment and contracting are prioritized. A pre-bid meeting will be held as specified. Prospective prime bidders are requested to attend, and responses to bidders' questions will be provided at the pre-bid conference if received up to two business days prior.
