Site work for a water / sewer project in Brookings, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
Scope of Work: Base Bid: Furnish and install approximately 3,500 linear feet of 16 PVC Watermain Pipe, 1,120 LF of 12 PVC Watermain Pipe, 420 LF of 24 Steel Casing Pipe, 230 LF of 8 RJ PVC Watermain Pipe, 511 LF of 6 PVC Watermain Pipe, and all associated fittings and appurtenances. Furnish and install approximately 420 LF of Bore and Jack Steel Casing. Furnish and install approximately 1,900 tons of Base Course, 380 tons of Gravel, and 355 tons of Asphalt Concrete Surfacing. Miscellaneous traffic control, pavement markings, and cleanup. Bid Alternate 1: Furnish and install approximately 2 Cold Milling Asphalt Concrete Surfacing and reinstallation of Asphalt Concrete Surfacing, including traffic control and cleanup. Bid Alternate 2: Furnish and install approximately 500 LF of 8 RJ PVC Watermain Pipe, 200 LF of Bore and Jack Steel Casing (10), and other related items and cleanup. Instructions to Bidders: Bids must be prepared as specified in the Bidding Documents. Bids not prepared in accordance with "Instructions to Bidders will be rejected. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security: either ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid price or a certified check for five percent (5%) of the bid price. Bid security will be forfeited to the owner as liquidated damages if the bidder refuses or fails to execute the contract and provide required bonds within fifteen (15) days after notice of award. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each for 100% of the contract amount. Bidders must comply with regulations, including utilization of Minority Business Enterprises (1.5% goal) and Womens Business Enterprises (2.4% goal). Bidders must comply with Equal Employment Opportunity and Civil Rights laws and regulations. The project is subject to American Iron and Steel provisions, unless exempted by International Trade Agreements. Low responsive bidders must also certify compliance regarding prohibited telecommunications and video surveillance equipment from specified companies. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities.
