Stony Brook University Hospital is soliciting proposals from qualified professional engineering and consulting firms to provide comprehensive forensic investigation, design, and engineering services related to infrastructure improvements surrounding the Radiation Oncology entrance. The project involves remediation of potential structural damage to exterior walls, pedestrian walkways, staircases, and roofing systems, as well as correction of critical site drainage issues. Work includes review of existing documentation, visual inspections, non-destructive and destructive testing, structural evaluations, waterproofing and drainage assessments, root cause analysis, preparation of remediation recommendations and budgets, design development for repairs including a new canopy, landscape architecture, construction documents, new site-related design, topographic surveys, infrastructure repair, upgrades and utility improvements, structural design for retaining walls, landscaping, and civil engineering services including grading and drainage. The selected firm must conduct a detailed forensic assessment, develop immediate and long-term remediation plans, and enhance functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility at the Radiation Oncology entrance. Required qualifications include a minimum of five years’ experience with similar hospital projects, LEED/sustainable design experience, a NYS licensed architect as principal, familiarity with Certificate of Need documents, and demonstrated ability to meet specified MWBE and SDVOB goals. Bidders must provide references, staff credentials, and comply with sustainability standards and relevant New York State Finance and Labor Laws including policies on sexual harassment prevention. RFQ submissions must be sealed and follow all outlined procedures.
