The project consists of the installation of approximately 1,780 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main and approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main on Mount Pleasant Avenue, from about 250 feet east of New Murray Road to Hanover Road. It also includes the installation of new fire hydrants, reconnection of all active services, restoration of paved and unpaved areas, and other improvements as shown in the Construction Plans. All work must be completed within sixty calendar days from the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit proposals on standard forms included with the Contract Documents, enclosed in sealed envelopes with the bidder's name, address, and project name on the outside. Proposals must be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from an authorized surety company and either a bid bond or a certified check for at least ten percent of the bid amount (not to exceed $20,000). A performance bond and a labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of the project will be required. The award will not be made until the necessary funds are provided by the owner. Bids are accepted only from properly qualified bidders. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informalities, abandon the project if necessary, and to increase or decrease specified quantities as described in the specifications.
