The City of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors to perform hot-applied crack sealing on asphalt shared-use paths within Barathaven and Bluebird Meadow. The work includes vegetation control in cracks, cleaning/routing, hot-pour crack sealing, and incidental traffic/pedestrian control and cleanup on trails only (not roadways). Contractors are instructed to provide and maintain pedestrian/bike control measures meeting MUTCD intent for shared-use paths, including barricades, cones, signs, and caution tape to close work areas until materials cure. No overnight equipment storage is allowed in neighborhoods without owner approval, and all costs must be included in the bid. Surface preparation requires treating vegetation in cracks and edges with herbicide, mechanically cleaning all cracks with oil-free compressed air and heat-lancing, routing cracks to a uniform reservoir as directed, power blowing or sweeping path surfaces, and trimming grass at edges. No sealer is to be applied on wet or damp surfaces. Contractors must request city inspection and approval of cleaned or routed areas prior to sealing.
