The Board of Education is accepting bids from subcontractors for a renovation project at a high school in Northfield, Illinois. The general scope of work includes exterior athletic field renovations and an interior cafe renovation at the Northfield Campus. The project includes all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means necessary for completion of the work indicated, such as temporary facilities and controls, demolition, cast-in-place concrete, metal fabrications, rough carpentry, plastic paneling, insulation, firestopping, joint sealants, access doors, overhead coiling grilles, door hardware, non-structural metal framing, gypsum board, ceramic tiling, acoustical panel ceilings, wood panel ceilings, resinous flooring, interior painting, signage, fire protection cabinets, athletic netting, food service equipment, various countertop installations, fire suppression sprinkler systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structured cabling for voice and data, extensions to intercom and fire alarm systems, security systems, site clearing, earthmoving, paving, decorative bollards, playground surfacing, fencing, soil preparation, landscaping, water utility and storm drainage piping. Instructions to bidders include obtaining bid documents from Pepper Construction, attending a pre-bid meeting where requirements will be reviewed, submitting sealed bids by the stated deadline, and accompanying each bid with a Bid Bond of ten percent of the Base Bid. Bids must be guaranteed for ninety days from the opening date and include an AIA A305 Contractors Qualifications Statement. Successful subcontractors must provide Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract sum. Contractors must pay prevailing wage rates and submit certified payrolls electronically. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any bids or waive irregularities.
