Jefferson Schools is seeking bids for waste removal services for district facilities. Locations Number of Containers Pick-Ups Per Week North Elementary - 8 yd. Tuesday, Thursday; 1 - 4 yd. Tuesday 8281 N Dixie Hwy Newport MI 48162 Sodt Elementary 2 - 8 yd. Tuesday, Thursday 8281 N Dixie Hwy Newport MI 48162 Jefferson Middle School 2 - 8 yd. Tuesday, Thursday; 1 - 6 yard Tuesday 5102 N Stony Creek Monroe MI 48162 Jefferson High School 3 - 8 yd. Tuesday, Thursday; 1 - 6 yard Tuesday 5707 Williams Rd Monroe MI 48162 Service Center 1 - 6 yard Tuesday, Thursday 5300 N Stony Creek Monroe MI 48162. The contractor is required to place state and federally approved covered containers in the specified numbers and locations, perform scheduled pick-ups by noon on designated days, and provide additional containers if required at a specified rate. The contractor must maintain all containers, replace any that are unfit for storage or protection against vermin, clean or replace dumpsters as directed, and provide proof of insurance including workers compensation and liability. All collected refuse must be disposed of in a state-approved landfill. Contractors must visit each site to familiarize themselves with container locations and access, and all equipment, transportation, and disposal fees must be included in the bid price. Operators must follow established safety precautions, especially during student arrival and dismissal, and keep premises clean and orderly. Services may not be subcontracted without prior written approval. Bidders must submit the required affidavits and disclosures, and smoking is prohibited on all school property. All proposals must be sealed, printed, signed, and received by the stated deadline. Please contact Jodey Dunn at 734-289-5570 if there are any questions. School Year - Number of pickups per week required the 4th week of December 2025 through the last week of June in 2026. Second year from the first week of July 2026 through the last week of June 2027. Third year from the first week of July 2027 through the last week of June 2028.
