Demolition and site work for a retail development in Monroe, Michigan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade retail development.

The selected contractor shall be responsible for all elements associated with the safe abatement and demolition of the structure located at 1107 E Third St, Monroe, MI 48161. This includes contacting Miss Dig and ensuring wrecking clearances have been obtained, submitting abatement and demolition notices as required by the state, securing appropriate permits and inspections, cutting and capping water and sewer lines, asbestos abatement and universal waste removal and disposal, demolishing all structures, taking open hole photos of utilities and the open excavation to show all foundations have been removed and no debris remains, coordinating open hole inspections, marking the location of any capped utilities with a labeled wooden stake after backfilling, backfilling excavations with clean, compacted fill material and finishing with topsoil, and erosion control and seeding. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, demolition permits from the City of Monroe, and arranging necessary inspections. Evaluation and procurement of any required Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control permits, submission of notifications to the state of Michigan through the MiEnviro Portal, and compliance with the Notification of Intent to Renovate/Demolish forms are also necessary. Disconnection of utilities prior to demolition, including confirmation of electrical, gas, water, and sewer, with photographic and physical documentation of utility terminations, is required. The contractor must submit landfill weight tickets and waste manifests to verify proper disposal of debris. The project is to be completed as soon as possible, and bidders should submit their proposed project timelines. Work hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, without work discontinuance exceeding three consecutive days unless approved. The contractor is responsible for all site safety, security, maintenance, and protection of adjacent properties, as well as for dust and debris control and for providing their own water supply and restroom facilities. Proposals must be sealed, clearly marked, and delivered by the deadline either in person or via email. The Monroe County Land Bank reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals and to make an award in the best interest of the County and/or the Land Bank.
