Renovation of a parking garage in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.

The University proposes to stabilize the concrete deck that separates Switzer Plaza from the north section (Level A) of Parking Structure 18 (PS-18)), which has deteriorated due to water intrusion caused by waterproofing system failures. PS-18 is a 484,000 square foot structure constructed in 1977, consisting of a north subterranean parking section beneath Switzer Plaza and a south parking section adjacent to Le Conte Avenue. The project area totals 37,730 gsf and impacts 14 parking bays. Upon completion of this stabilization project, further investigations will assess the water damage and inform a permanent solution. A separate project will then address structural repairs. The scope of work includes the installation of a temporary, horizontal steel truss reinforcement system to transfer Switzer Plaza's structural loads to Level A of PS-18 and stabilize the structure for future repairs. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: A License (General Engineering) The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
