Site work and renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.
The project consists of various repairs, maintenance items, and miscellaneous Alterations to the existing Salt Storage Facility, which may be generally summarized as follows: 1. Structural Repairs - various repairs to the load-bearing steel structure of the existing Salt Storage Facility. These repairs are necessary due to corrosion of the existing steel structure from long term storage of and exposure to corrosive materials for road treatment over the life of the building. This includes but is not limited to targeted structural steel column repairs, steel wall girt & channel repairs & replacements, and other work indicated on the drawings. 2. Architectural Repairs - repair, replacement, and remediation of various items necessary for long-term service needs of the building. This includes but is not limited to cleaning preparing and repainting of the existing steel structure, gutter & downspout replacement, metal roof panel and metal wall panel replacement to match existing, repair and covering of existing steel bollards, metal trim replacement, reinstallation of existing metal trim, repairs to existing concrete walls, replacement of existing doors and hardware, and other work related to same. 3. Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Repairs - replacement of existing lighting fixtures at the locations indicated on the drawings, and other work related to same, including but not limited to electrical modifications and installing supports for the new lighting fixtures. The Contractor acknowledges that this is an estimated date and is subject to change. The actual notice to proceed will be established by the successful bidder's proposed schedule and the break ground is generally established at the Pre-Construction Meeting. The site & building will be available for construction activities beginning April 1, 2026. If weather allows, it is possible construction activities may begin earlier than this in March 2026, but that should not be relied upon by the Contractor when preparing their Bid and Construction Schedule Bonds: Bid Bond or Certified Check (from Bidder): 5% of the Base Bid. Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bond (from awarded Contractor): each in the amount of full contract price. Liquidated Damages: Liquidated Damages: $250.00 per working day Award will be made to the Bidder(s) whose offer(s) provide the greatest value to the County from the standpoint of suitability to purpose, quality, service, previous experience, price, lifecycle cost, ability to deliver, time required for completion, or for any other reason deemed by the County to be in the best interest of the County. Thus, the result will not be determined by price alone. The County will be seeking the least costly outcome that meets the County needs as interpreted by the County. The County also reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive informalities or irregularities oone County notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Bidder will ensure that Disadvantage Business Enterprises will have the opportunity to participate in the performance of this contract or any subcontracts. Bid responses must be on forms provided and all unit price bids, extensions, and totals provided thereon shall be completed fully.
