This project includes intersection improvements at the Mechanic Street and Harrison Street Intersection. The project will include improvements to sidewalks, paving, crosswalks, and a new traffic signal. Completed bids shall be submitted to the City of Cumberland's online solicitation website. A Proposal Guaranty (Bond or Certified Check) in the amount of at least 5% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to submit a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, for all construction contracts in excess of $100,000, at the time the contract is executed. The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to waive any technicalities and to reject any or all bids, and to accept any or all proposals which in their judgment is to the best interest of the City. The project will include improvements to dewalks, paving, crosswalks, a new traffic signal, and a new storm inlet at the proposed curb line. • Important Items that were noted during the meeting: o Storm Inlet shall be Type E not Type H o Utility companies are responsible for the relocation of Utility Pole C454. o Traffic control shall be maintained at the intersection with limited shutdowns. o No Construction on City recognized holidays without Engineer’s approval. o The City understands that there will most likely be a long lead time for the new mast arm pole. This lead time will not factor into the contract duration of 60 days.
