Play Streets Implementation Grant - South Region. The Play Streets program is a community-centered health initiative designed to increase access to safe, supervised outdoor spaces for physical activity among children and families in Chicago neighbourhoods with the greatest health disparities. Play Streets directly addresses childhood obesity by providing consistent, structured play opportunities in areas that face limited access to recreational infrastructure and safe public spaces. Annually, Play Streets reaches over 20,000 children and families across the South and West Regions. By embedding play and physical activity directly into neighbourhoods, Play Streets helps address critical public health challenges while strengthening community ties and organizational capacity. The Chicago Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission is to work with communities and partners to create an equitable, resilient, safe, and Healthy Chicago. Our efforts build toward our vision where everyone in Chicago thrives and achieves their optimal health and wellness. CDPH reserves the right to reduce current funding if the delegate agency does not meet the program benchmarks as outlined above. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals; take exception to parts of proposals, request written or oral clarification of proposals and supporting materials or cancel this Request for Proposals process if it is in the City's best interest to do so. A respondent may be asked to clarify their proposal by making a presentation, performing a demonstration, or hosting a site visit. CDPH reserves the right to negotiate separately with competing respondents for all or any part of the services described in this RFP.
