Renovation of a municipal facility in Santa Cruz, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
**The owner has determined a prequalified list of general contractors. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The County of Santa Cruz seeks sealed proposals from fully licensed (B License), insured, bonded, certified contractors to furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to provide Job Order Contracting Services for general construction. The County intends to award up to four Job Order Contracts for General Construction, which are indefinite quantity construction contracts, for projects at various locations and facilities under the County's jurisdiction. Job Order Contracting is typically used for small to medium-sized repair and rehabilitation work, replacement in kind projects, and remodeling. Contractors may perform an ongoing series of individual projects, with each contract having a maximum value of $6,210,093 but no guaranteed minimum. Contract documents include a Construction Task Catalog(R) with pre-priced tasks and unit prices based on local costs. Bidders must submit seven adjustment factors applied to unit prices. Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidders. For each project, the contractor will participate in a joint scope meeting, after which the County will issue a request for a job order proposal for the specific scope of work. Contractors must then submit a price proposal, construction schedule, list of proposed subcontractors, and other documentation as required. Job Orders will set forth the detailed scope, completion time, and price for each project. Extra work, credits, and deletions will be addressed via supplemental job orders. Instructions to bidders include requirements for proposal preparation, submission, non-collusion declarations, references, evaluation criteria, compliance with contract terms, and proprietary information handling.
