Track Resurfacing for Central High School Track for Tuscaloosa City Schools Sealed proposals are requested for track resurfacing at Central High School for Tuscaloosa City Schools. Contractors must visit the site before bidding. The project location is Central High School, 905 15th St, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Bidders are required to carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Bids must exclude taxes and must be submitted on forms provided by the owner's representative. No bid may be withdrawn for 90 days. The owner reserves the right to reject any proposal or waive technical errors. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Tuscaloosa City Schools Board of Education for 5% of the bid amount, not exceeding $10,000. Performance and payment bonds are required at contract signing. Bidders who exceed State Licensing Board limits must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama (1975) and must list their license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. Bid documents are available by request through the designated contact. Only documents issued through this process are endorsed. Addenda will be issued only to confirmed bidders. All inquiries regarding bid documents must be sent to the designated contact. Contractors are responsible for proper supervision of all work. Track and track event spaces consisting of the following: o Track o Remove and replace surface o Clean sidewalks in front of bleachers-remove paint o High Jump o Remove and replace surface in corresponding D-zone o Pole Vault o Remove and replace surface o Regrade 42" away from lane and resod o Triple Jump o Remove and replace surface o Grade to 1 1/2" below outside edge of curb and resod o Refresh and level sand pit. Sand fill to meet NFHS standards. o Extend runway at least 15' on East end o Cut out and replace jump boards (Replace three jump boards and add one for a total of four) o Long Jump o Remove and replace surface o Grade to 1 1/2" below outside edge of curb and resod o Refresh and level sand pit. Sand fill to meet NFHS standards. o Extend runway at least 15' on West end o Javelin-N/A o Discus-N/A o Shot Put o Remove and replace surface o Grade dirt away from event o Replace wood with more durable ground contact materials A. The Synthetic Surfacing Contractor shall install an IAAF approved, porous polyurethane synthetic track system comprised of a paved base layer of SBR granules bound with polyurethane product and topped with a single-component or two-component polyurethane structural spray, and EPDM granules. B. The SSC shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to perform the following work: 1. Review Bidding documents and specifications and verify suitability of the existing track to correct levels and the in-ground track and field equipment. 2. Sufficiently clean down all areas to be surfaced and protect all areas not to receive synthetic surface. 3. Install approved synthetic surfacing material on all areas as defined by the Bidding documents. 4. Layout and paint all track line and event markings in accordance with the latest edition of the IAAF, NCAA, NFHS or UIL rules and regulations, as applicable, and any other details outlined by the Owner. All event markings are to be verified with the owner prior to submittal of shop drawings. A. Install an IAAF approved, impermeable polyurethane synthetic track system consisting of SBR Rubber and, a single-component polyurethane binder, , one layer of a poured-in-place, twocomponent pore sealer, and one layer of a U.V. stabilized elastomeric polyurethane solvent free wearing layer cast in place with embedded EPDM granules. B. Layout and paint all track lines and event markings as required and specified by current IAAF rules, NCAA rules, NFHS rules, or local governing body. The purpose of the geotechnical exploration was to evaluate general soil conditions for design and construction of this evaluation was to determine the pavement structure for the running track at Central High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This work was conducted in accordance with our proposal number Q1-23152R1 dated July 28, 2025. The following items were included as part of our scope of work. 1. Core the running track at eight locations to determine asphalt and stone base thickness. Determine subgrade soilstrength and moisture content at a minimum of four locations. Two hand augersto 5 feet each with dual mas dynamic cone penetrometer tests. 2. A geotechnical engineering report is to include the following items: o A site plan illustrating the coring locations o Spreadsheet of the pavement and subsurface conditions encountered o Description of field and laboratory procedures o Determination of site geology o Results of the laboratory tests performed o Recommendations relative to site preparation and discussion of expected asphalt condition and life span based on visual observations and depth All Rfis Regarding the Bid Documents Shall Be Sent to Jana Cox at: Jana@gamedayassociates.com.
