Renovation of a transportation facility in Dublin, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade transportation facility.
Remove existing shingle roof, brace structure and replace damaged sheeting, and install metal roof on the Fuel Farm. The fuel farm at the New River Valley Airport has a 50' x 60' structure covering the primary fuel storage tanks, and a 12' x 12' structure containing the pump controls, electrical, and fuel QC equipment. The 50' x 60' structure is wooden framed on stilts in good condition, with a gabled,shingled roof in poor condition. Pieces of the shingle tiles have either leaked or blown off over time, leading to damaged sheeting. The 12' x 12' pump house is an enclosed block building with a gabled, shingled roof in similar condition. These structures have extended the life of the system and allow for re-fueling and maintenance to be done regardless of the weather conditions. Project scope will include removing existing shingle roofs and damaged sheeting, repairing and bracing both structures with the corresponding materials, replacing damaged sheeting, and installing a metal roof on both structures in the style and color of other metal roofs at the Airport. Project area will be near an active aircraft apron, and so cleanliness and removal of trash from the area will be important. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the same and is the only point through which information will be disseminated. Bid security must accompany each proposal in accordance with the Information for Bidders
