Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, services, transportation, permits, utilities, and all other items necessary for the Dempsey Road Street Resurfacing Project. All contractors and subcontractors that wish to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, or enter into a contract to perform public work must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. Each bidder shall be appropriately licensed with a Class A or Class C-12 License from the Contractor's State License Board for the duration of the bid and contract. Substitution requests must be made within 35 calendar days after the award of the contract. City may designate certain materials, methods, or services by specific brand or trade name, as found in the Special Conditions. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder determined by the City. Bids must be submitted in person on the City's Bid Forms, accompanied by a cash, certified or cashier's check, or bid bond of at least 10% of the total bid price as bid security. The successful bidder must enter into a contract and provide necessary bonds and insurance within five working days of notice. Both a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each at 100% of the contract price are required. Bidders are responsible for compliance with all labor code provisions, payment of prevailing wages, employment of apprentices, posting wage rates at the jobsite, and any compliance monitoring. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. It is the bidder's responsibility to include all costs of labor compliance. Addenda and updates will be posted on OpenGov Procurement, and bidders must check for updates prior to bid close. Bids are valid for 90 calendar days after opening. City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities. Bidders are required to review all contract documents and instructions before submitting bids.
