The award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder in accordance with these Contract Documents, but the District reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and waive minor discrepancies in the Bid. The successful Bidder shall produce the required Performance and Payment Bonds within twenty (20) calendar days from the award of the Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the Contract price and a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the Contract price, said bonds to be obtained from a surety company satisfactory to the District and insurance coverage in defined coverages and amounts. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum prevailing wage rates to be paid under the Contract, said items being contained in the Specifications. A time limit for the final completion of the Work of Seventy-Five (75) calendar days, from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed, has been set and liquidated damages shall be assessed according to the Contract Documents for each calendar day thereafter that the Work is not completed. Prospective Bidders shall be licensed Contractors in the State of California and shall be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or type of work called for under the Contract. In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code 3300, the District has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class C-57 (Water Well Drilling) Contractor's license. Failure to possess said license at the time of award shall render the Bid non-responsive and shall act as a bar to award of a contract to any Bidder not possessing said license.
