Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Ventura, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
Balboa Field Renovation Project Location - 247 Hill Rd, Ventura, CA 93003 The Contractor shall supply all Labor, Materials and Equipment required or necessary to complete the work called out in the contract documents and to be aware that this contract will require the following portions of work to be completed related to the BALBOA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FIELD RENOVATIONS. Scope of work includes the removal of existing turf is designated area and installation of new field and irrigation equipment per plans and specifications provided by Jordan & Bain Landscape Architects. Contractor shall include in bid sufficient manpower to complete project in project timeframe (1/26/26 - 3/6/26), and an additional 90-day maintenance period as outlined in the project documents. Construction will take place while campus is occupied. Contractor is responsible for safety of students, staff, and general public as outlined in the special conditions. This contractor is responsible for pick-up of the new owner purchase pump from Site One, transportation to the jobsite, unload, and installation. Contractor is responsible for all gates, fencing, concrete, and landscape scopes as shown on project documents. No gap larger than 4" shall be permissible at gate and fencing locations. Fence and gate scope includes: temporary construction fencing over course of construction and maintenance period, permanent fencing around pump and new equipment per project documents, new gate for access. Reference project documents for all locations required. -in general the scope of work includes the removal of existing turf in designated area and replaced with hydro-seed turf with new irrigation per plan. the installation of a double wide chain link fence access gates as well as an chain link enclosure on a small concrete slab for new auto controllers are also part of this scope. All bids shall be made on a bid form included in the bid packet that is available from the District's Secure Bid Portal located on the District's website. All Bid Proposals must be submitted electronically via the District's Secure Bids Vendor portal, on or before the specified time and date, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Contract Time is 39 days. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and General Requirements should be consulted regarding Milestones and Liquidated Damages. A list of prequalified MEP subcontractors will be made available by the District to all bidders at least five business days prior to the bid opening date. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that all MEP subcontractors holding the listed licenses are properly prequalified before submitting a bid. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Each bidder shall submit, on a furnished form with the Contract Documents, a list of the designated subcontractors as required by the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act. The District will permit the substitution of securities for any moneys withheld to ensure performance under the Contract, as per California Public Contract Code section 22300. Each bidder's bid must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or a bidder's bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed Contract and provide the required Performance and Payment Bonds, insurance certificates, and any other required documents. In the event of failure to enter into said Contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with prevailing wage requirements and submit payroll records to the Labor Commissioner. Payroll records must be submitted in electronic format prescribed by the Labor Commissioner every thirty days while Work is being performed and within thirty days after the final day of Work. Separate payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required and must be provided before execution of the Contract. All bonds must be issued by a California admitted surety. Any request for substitutions pursuant to Public Contract Code section 3400 must be made at the time of Bid on the Substitution Request Form and included with the bid. Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened. No telephone or facsimile machine will be available to bidders on the District premises. No bidder may withdraw any bid for ninety calendar days after the opening date. Pre-qualification requirements: Each bidder must submit a Prequalification Application at least ten business days prior to the last date for the submission of Bid Proposals and be prequalified with Ventura Unified School District for at least five business days prior to that date. Contractors can prequalify at QualityBidders.com. If this Project includes work by MEP subcontractors with designated license types, those subcontractors must also be prequalified. Each bidder must be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code and licensed to perform the work called for in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must possess a valid and active Class C27 - Landscaping Contractor license at the time of bid and throughout the duration of the Contract. Subcontractors must be licensed for the trades necessary to perform the Work, and contractors or subcontractors must be currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. Where applicable, bidders must meet Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise program requirements by submitting the included forms if required. Each bidder must also include a list of designated subcontractors using the furnished form with the Contract Documents according to the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act. Bidders must provide the required bid security and bonds as specified, and comply with all other requirements as detailed in the bid documents and applicable law. The Contractor shall comply with all AHJ requirements, obtain all required permits or inspections for any work effecting areas adjacent to the site, provide any required traffic control and re-route signage to comply with all laws and regulations. The Contractor shall not at any time impact or prohibit access to neighboring homes or fire department access on adjacent roads during the scope of the project. The Contractor is responsible to provide perimeter fencing and safety requirements as applicable to keep public out of work area during and after work hours. This also includes barriers to keep traffic off field area during 90-day maintenance period (Orange fencing, stakes, fencing, or other may be accepted. District must approve method prior to install). Contractor shall protect all existing conditions in place as required, and correct any condition that may require temporary removal or modification during the course of construction. Contractor shall check or locate existing structures, electric cables or conduits, utility lines and other existing features or conditions above or below ground level that might be damaged as a result of the operation. Questions or conflicts arising out of such examination prior to or during operation shall be immediately directed to the attention of the VUSD Representative for necessary action or decisions before resuming operation. Contractor shall be responsible for repair or replacement at no cost to the VUSD Representative for features or conditions damaged through failure to comply with the procedures per specifications. Contractor shall include all temporary connections as required to keep existing turf areas outside of contract during construction duration. Contractor is responsible to provide power and water as required (Water shall meet all requirements as outlined in the specifications). Contractor is responsible for maintaining and providing accurate as-built documents, including and not limited to irrigation controller charts. Contractor is responsible for all required components, licenses, and accessories for complete and functioning irrigation control system as called out on project documents. Include purchase, installation, and all required components for liquid fertilizer dispenser system, including products for initial fill of system. All safe handling and following regulations for work related to asbestos-cement piping is required by this contractor as outlined in the project documents. Contractor is responsible for capping and handing of existing mainline and valves for future work as required.
