**As of February, 3rd this project has been awarded to Helix grading for $320,503.** The work to be completed for the Waycross MLK Quarterman St Storm Drainage Repair consists of removing approximately 685 feet of existing 60-inch CMP and installing approximately 75 feet of 60-inch RCP under two roads and creating an approximately 530-foot-long storm ditch through the field. The work includes filling existing sinkholes, removing and replacing two double wing catch basins, removing one existing headwall while installing three new headwalls, hauling off approximately 4,850 cubic feet of dirt to create the storm ditch, approximately 120 linear feet of curb and gutter replacement, approximately 235 square yards of milling and overlay/pavement patch, traffic control, erosion control, and other miscellaneous work. Any contractor submitting a bid must be licensed by the State of Georgia. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier's check in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, shall be required of the successful bidder. All bonds must be by a surety company licensed in Georgia with an "A" minimum rating of performance and a financial strength of at least five times the contract price. Each bond must be accompanied by a Power of Attorney authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the bond. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids.
