The Town of Plainfield is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ)s from engineering firms for engineering services for the Brook Road MM 4.135 and Bridge #24 Abutment Replacement Project. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing a design for the restoration of a washed-out area of Brook Road at approximate mile marker 4.135, north of Fowler Road, and for the replacement of the north abutment of Bridge #24, located on Brook Road approximately 0.17 miles south of Fowler Road. This abutment was severely damaged by rainfall which caused Great Brook to overflow, resulting in the bridge being considered structurally deficient and closed to vehicular traffic. The procurement will use a Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) process focused on demonstrated ability, not on a detailed scope of work or cost proposal at this stage. Project development must follow the Vermont Agency of Transportation Municipal Assistance Section process. Proposals must be identified as an SOQ and include the project name.
