The City of SeaTac (City) is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) to provide consulting, design, and engineering services for the following project: Connecting SeaTac's Community: Improving Travel Safety Through Developing a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan and Implementing a Vulnerable User Safety (VUS) Demonstration Activity Consultants must be experienced in federalized contract processes, preparation of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP), and development/implementation of a demonstration project as detailed in the following section PROJECT INFORMATION: The City has received $1,660,000 in federal funding through the United States Department of Transportation's Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grant Program to develop a citywide Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) and conduct a demonstration project that implements safety-based technology and temporary mid-block crossing safety mitigation strategies along International Boulevard (State Route 99) at thirteen (13) signalized intersections and two (2) signalized pedestrian crossings located from South 160th Street to South 216th Street. The demonstration project will identify all existing safety issues at each of the subject intersections to develop safety countermeasures where vulnerable user safety is found to be most at risk. Risks associated with unmarked mid-block crossings, distracted driving, red light running, dilemma zone occurrences, variable pedestrian demand, timing strategies at signalized crossings, and vulnerable user safety shall be an emphasis Questions or requests for clarification regarding this RFQ shall be submitted in writing and directed to Brenton Cook at bcook@seatacwa.gov The City reserves the right to reject any or all submittals if determined to be in the best interest of the City
