City of SeaTac Monument and Wayfinding Signage Program Submittal Date: October 2, 2025 REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS The City of SeaTac is seeking proposals from experienced consultants to create construction bid documents for a large monument sign located on WSDOT property, bid documents for construction of seven (7) new city facility/ park signs and bid ready documents for updates to six (6) existing facility and/or Welcome to SeaTac structures. The purpose of the gateway treatments and signage is to enhance community identity, provide a consistent look across all city signage and implement a highly recognizable design that will become synonymous with the City. Questions or requests for clarification regarding this RFQ shall be directed to Public Works Programs Coordinator, Mason Giem, at mgiem@seatacwa.gov . Questions must be received in writing no later than 5:00PM, Pacific Standard Time, September 19, 2025. Questions will be compiled, answered, and distributed via email to all responding consultants. Scope of Work Research a. Review existing site conditions and sign types, City's current sign code and policy guidance. b. Review Washington Department of Transportation Public Art Plan. c. Review Attachment B (Monument + Wayfinding Signage Final Package). d. Conduct existing monument and facility signage inventory and analysis to identify assets, gaps, opportunities, etc. Design 1. The City desires different construction bid documents that include gateway sign designs that are of differing design and size: a. One large 'welcome to SeaTac' signature monument sign to be located at the primary entryway to the City as shown in on page 8 of attachment B; and b. Two new City monument signs more suited to internal 'sub area/ district areas' within the City as shown on page 3 of attachment B. c. Seven new City Park Signs to be located on City property as shown on page 6 of attachment B. d. Utilize existing structures to design four City Facility signs that reflect the design guidelines outlined on page 6 of attachment B. e. Utilize existing structures to design three City Monument signs that reflect the design guidelines outlined on page 3 of attachment B. Staff Approval 2. The City project management staff desires to review (up to 3 times) and approve all proposed sign designs before submittal to the Permitting Department. Permitting: 3.
