Site work for a water / sewer project in Franklin, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of the installation of a new metropolitan interceptor sewer (MIS) from the end of the existing MIS at W. Oakwood Rd. south to the Racine county line by microtunneling. The contractor will construct: Approximately 5,242 feet of 24-inch sewer to be installed within a casing pipe installed by microtunneling Approximately 20 feet of 24-inch sewer will be installed by an alternate trenchless method as specified in Section 02960,Tunnel Excavation and as shown on the plans 7 MMSD concrete manholes 8 microtunneling shafts 1 City of Oak Creek outside drop manhole 1 City of Franklin outside drop manhole 1 flow monitoring device at proposed manhole 40519 For further information or questions regarding these requirements, please contact the District procurement office, José Galván, at (414) 225-2169 or jgalvan@mmsd.com. 20% of the total contract price (13% MBE, 2% WBE, 5% SBE/VBE) 45% of total contract hours shall be performed by workers within the Sanitary Sewer Service Area Boundary 20% of total contract hours shall be performed by workers within the Target Area Employment Requirements Apprenticeship Utilization Requirement At least 15% of the total labor hours shall be performed by Apprentice(s) February 2026 Award Date (estimated) The contractor will construct: Approximately 5,242 feet of 24-inch sewer to be installed within a casing pipe installed by microtunneling Approximately 20 feet of 24-inch sewer will be installed by an alternate trenchless method as specified in Section 02960, TUNNEL EXCAVATION and as shown on the plans 7 MMSD concrete manholes 8 microtunneling shafts 1 City of Oak Creek outside drop manhole 1 City of Franklin outside drop manhole 1 flow monitoring device at proposed manhole 40519 Construction of the MIS extension will be concurrent with a City of Oak Creek development and potentially a City of Franklin development. The Oak Creek development is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of W. Elm Rd and S. 27th St., and the Franklin development is located at the intersection of W. South County Line Rd. and S. 27 th St. Question Deadline 01/01/2026 All questions related to this proposed contract, pre-bid presentation, or interested bidders list must be directed in writing to Nathan Churchill, nchurchill@mmsd.com, no later than 7 days before the bid opening date.
