Qualified consultants are sought to provide professional engineering services for the planned rehabilitation of the primary commercial runway, R/W 11-29, and associated taxiway work at Gainesville Regional Airport. The project comprises evaluation of runway strength requirements, complete pavement design, and creation of bidding documents for repaving or rehabilitation of the runway, as well as repaving and/or reconstruction of associated Taxiway E connector pavements (E-1 through E-5). The scope may also include reconfiguration and rehabilitation of adjacent Taxiway B, with potential alteration of Taxiway B's connection to Runway 11-29, in accordance with the new Master Plan. Consultants are expected to show substantial prior experience with similar airport facilities and familiarity with relevant FAA Advisory Circulars. Key project goals include maximizing runway availability and minimizing disruption to scheduled commercial operations, which should be addressed in a thoughtful and realistic Safety and Phasing Plan. Consultation with airlines and major stakeholders, as well as detailing required contractor capabilities, is critical. The pavement design must support the anticipated airport fleet mix for the design life of the pavement. A qualifications-based selection process will be used, and fee information should not be submitted. Interested parties must submit one original and three copies of the qualifications package, along with a digital copy on a USB drive.
