Renovation of an educational facility in Carol Stream, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed bids are invited for Asbestos Abatements at Glenbard North High School, Glenbard East High School, and Glenbard West High School. Bidders must be Illinois Department of Public Health Licensed Asbestos Contractors in good standing with experience in Illinois school abatement projects over $50,000. Bid package documents, drawings, and specifications are available through Weaver Consultants Group. Bidders are required to call before picking up bid packages. There will be one-time pre-bid walkthroughs at each school. Attendance is mandatory per school for which a bid is submitted, and contractors must obtain bid packages prior to the walkthrough. Failure to attend will disqualify the bidder for that school. By submitting a bid, the contractor certifies that this requirement is fulfilled. Each bid must include a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a company with an A-1 best rating, for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days after bid opening except with owner consent. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full contract amount. Per school, each contractor submits a lump sum bid and requested alternate bids for the entire project, including the cost of the required bonds. The awarded contractor is responsible for all work outlined in the specification, coordination with existing trades, and any work not bid as a separate contract. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.
