Question Deadline 12/05/2025 Any questions regarding the solicitation shall require submission of a question via PPS for clarification no later than ten (10) calendar days prior to the date fixed for opening via COKPurchasing@kauai.gov Department of Finance, for the Provision of Services for Ballast Bypass Conversion at the Kauai Police Department's Headquarters and Substations, for the County of Kauai. The Contractor shall cover the bypassing of existing electronic ballast and then re-wire each light fixture to operate on direct current for new LED tubes. All LED tubes, new fixtures, and bulbs will be provided by the County of Kauai. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, lift equipment and disposal required to complete the electrical work described herein and at the locations listed below. This service will coverthe bypassing ofexisting electronic ballast and the re-wiring ofeach light fixture to operate on direct current for new LED tubes. All LED tubes, new fixtures, and bulbs will be supplied through the KIUC Incentive Program. Technical Note: Bypassing electronic ballasts during conversion from T8 fluorescent to LED technology improves energy efficiency, reduces maintenance costs, and enhances reliability by removing unnecessary components that can fail. As to CFL 2-pin and 4-pin replacements will be performed as plug-and-play installations only. All work will comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and County of Kauai electrical standards, ensuring a safe, efficient, and fully operational lighting system upon completion.
