Renovation of a parking garage in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
The Gibson Street ramp was constructed in 1972, and it's nearing the end of its useful life. This project funds the design and construction of a scaled-back parking structure. 2028: $1,300,000 Design for new parking structure. 2029: $14,000,000 Construction of parking deck structure in downtown. As of March 4, 2026, this project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). It is currently in the conceptual phase. A design firm has not been selected and design is not expected to begin until 2028 with construction to follow in 2029. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
