Sealed bids are requested for the replacement of roof in specified areas at Evans Middle School, 812 Chester Ave, Ottumwa, Iowa. Construction may begin upon coordination with the Owner and after approval of required Contracts, Bonds, and Insurance. The Substantial Completion date will be determined during the contract process. Bidders intending to bid must attend a mandatory prebid meeting at the specified school address. Bids must be received before the deadline at the designated location, and late or incorrectly delivered bids will not be considered. Bid security is required and must be payable to the School District without condition. The security will be forfeited if the successful bidder does not enter into a contract within 10 days of award and post the required bond. The successful bidder must provide a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the Contract Price and comply with all requirements per Davis Bacon due to federal fund usage. Bids are to be irrevocable for 30 days after submission. The project is tax exempt, and Iowa State Sales Tax should not be included in bid totals. Preference should be given to products or provisions produced or grown within Iowa. Resident bidders are allowed preference against nonresidents based on reciprocity with the other state or countrys practices. All bidders must provide a bidder's resident status statement on the designated form. Failure to provide this may result in rejection of the bid. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or irregularities as allowed by law and in the best interests of the School District. All bids will be governed by applicable Iowa Code provisions and relevant district policies including non-discrimination and equal opportunity.
