Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for outdoor lighting for a road / highway.

A contractor will not be prequalified for this letting unless the statement is received before the time and day established. The Department reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive minor or immaterial irregularities, informalities or technicalities, to advertise for new bids, or to request confirmation or clarification from any bidder regarding a bid. The pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all potential prime contractors interested in bidding. Registered subcontractors are encouraged to attend. The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM at which time, after a final call for everyone to sign in, the sign-in sheets will be copied. Attendees who show up after the presentation is underway will not be allowed to sign-in thereby not being considered in attendance. Failure on the prime contractor's part to attend will cause the contractor's request for authorization to bid to be denied. IL DOT - 184 - Realignment and Reconstruction of the Mainline and Interchange Pavement The work consists of the realignment and reconstruction of the mainline and interchange pavement and related roadway elements, including ramp and cross-road reconstruction, existing bridge removal, installation of an enclosed storm sewer system with drainage structures and detention ponds, earth excavation and embankment grading, installation of retaining and noise walls, barrier and moment slab construction, bridge replacement, roadway lighting, traffic signals, ITS implementation, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, traffic control and protection, detour routing, pavement marking and signing, sidewalk, shared used path, and other related roadway items required to complete the project as indicated in the contract documentation. This work shall consist of visually recording detour routes and submitting recordings to the Department via storage devices and shall be in accordance with the applicable sections of the Standard Specifications. This work shall include providing the Department with a detailed visual recording of each detour route shown in the plans and/or as directed by the Engineer. This work shall consist of developing and implementing a detailed Dust Control Plan (DCP) in accordance with Article 107.36 of the Standard Specifications. Development of a DCP is required. All construction activities shall be governed by the DCP. Elements of the DCP will include and specify, at a minimum: 1. Mechanisms to limit tracking soil onto nearby publicly traveled roadways 2. Required speed reductions for Contractor vehicles on unpaved surfaces 3. Requirements for covering of haul vehicles, and 4. Application of dust suppressants (typically water based, calcium chloride, tarps) or water to exposed surfaces, particularly to vehicles and surfaces on which construction vehicles travel. This work shall consist of constructing concrete pavement and shoulders using extended life concrete at locations specified on the plans. Work shall be performed according to the Standard Specifications except as modified herein: This work shall consist of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct class D patches at the locations shown on the plans and/ or locations determined by the Engineer in the field. The work shall be performed according to Section 442 of the Standard Specifications, except as modified herein. Delete Note 2 from Article 442.02 of the Standard Specification and replace with the following: "Note 2. The mixture composition of the HMA used shall be binder course and surface course as specified in the Hot-Mix Asphalt Mixtures Requirements table in the plans."
