Site work for a water / sewer project in Huntington, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a 2,894-square-foot, one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The purpose of the project is to install new wellhead treatment for the removal of PFAS and VOCs detected in the potable water supply Well Nos. 10 and 15 of the Greenlawn Water District. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS – INTERPRETATIONS The CONTRACTOR shall keep at the site of the work one (1) copy of the plans and specifications, signed and identified by the ENGINEER. Anything shown on the plans and not mentioned in the specifications or mentioned in the specifications and not shown on the plan shall have the same effect as if shown or mentioned respectively in both. In case of any conflict or inconsistency between the plans and the specifications, the plans shall govern. Any discrepancy between the figures and drawings shall be submitted to the ENGINEER, whose decision thereon shall be conclusive. In the event it is determined, prior to the installation of any work, that the estimate of quantities as shown in the specifications and PROPOSAL, are gravely disproportioned as compared with the quantities shown on the plans, the WATER DISTRICT shall have the right to terminate the agreement without any liability. BRIEF PURPOSE OF PROJECT / GENERAL A. The purpose of the project is to install new wellhead treatment for the removal of PFAS and VOC's detected in the potable water supply Well No's. 10 & 15 of the Greenlawn Water District. B. This Section provides an abbreviated summary of the work for the Construction Contracts associated with the Owner's program to construct the project. C. Each Contractor has been provided with copies of all relevant construction drawings for related construction contracts whose work may directly effect and impact the work under this Contract. 1. Each Contractor shall provide a complete and operational project in anticipation of these affects and impacts. 2. It is each Contractor's responsibility to investigate the work that will be performed by others and consider such in the conduct of his/her work.The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Superintendence of employees, subcontractors and supervision of deliveries throughout the course of construction. 2. Contractor shall provide storage containers and job-site trailer for use. Provide sanitary facilities for use of Contract G employees and subcontractors. 3. Attendance at bi-weekly job site progress meetings held by the Engineer. 4. Furnish and maintain Contractor's job trailer including set-up and payment of all utilities, sanitary facilities for duration of project and reufse removal. 5. Tree removal, site clearing, grubbing, sheeting, bracing, excavation, soil erosion protection, slope protection, earth movement, subgrade preparation, removal of excess and/or unsuitable excavated material, dewatering, and import of suitable material, as necessary to install and construct all the work defined within the Contract Documents. 6. Demolition of existing aluminum grating in the Well No. 10 pump station. 7. Preliminary site work including: utility mark-out, erection of safety fencing, erosion control facilities, clearing and grubbing. 8. All excavation, trenching, backfilling and rough grading associated with the installation of pull-boxes, undergound conduit, and wiring. Final restoration by Contract G, however each contractor is responsible for the disposal of the materials required to facilitate the installation of their wiring, conduit and pipelines including excess soils, concrete and asphalt. 9. Receive and install pipe penetration sleeves from other contracts. 10. New site drainage structures and piping. 11. Excavation, removal of excess and/or unsuitable excavated material, sheeting reinforcement, import of suitable material, soil compaction and testing. 12. Construction of new treatment building, including: all concrete footings/foundations/walls, concrete reinforcement, penetrations, structural steel, masonry, light-gauge, drywall, trusses, framing, roofing, windows, doors, louvers, grating, stairs, siding, finishes, etc. 13. Surface preparation and coating of structural steel, walls, and other items as noted. 14. Placement of new chemical transfer station. 15. Site restoration including final grading and placement of topsoil and seeding. 16. Asphalt removal and new paving of driveway areas. 17. New asphalt paving. 18. New sidewalks and concrete curbing. 19. Project closeout submittals. D. All other work shown and specified
