Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot.

The work involves the replacement of existing concrete sidewalk, concrete curb, and driveway aprons on various streets in the Township. Sealed bids are required to be submitted online via PennBid. A certified check or bid bond for the amount of 10% of the total bid is required, and bonds must be issued by a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The state "Prevailing Minimum Wage" determinations are applicable for this project. Question Deadline 01/16/2026 at 10:00 AM ET Any questions concerning the bid may be directed to Joseph J. Fielder, Public Works Director, at jfielder@upperdublin.net. The work consists of the replacement of existing concrete sidewalk, concrete curb, and driveway aprons in conformance to Upper Dublin Township Standards (attached), PennDOT Specification 408, and the following procedures. Concrete to be replaced has been marked with white paint to indicate the limits of replacement. Any questions as to the markings need to be addressed with the Township inspector prior to work beginning. o All poured concrete shall be cured by applying a Township-approved curing/ sealing compound (AQURON CPT 2000). o Pre-molded expansion joint material must be from a manufacturer listed in Penn DOT Bulletin 15 and pre-approved by the Township. It must be installed full depth. o Contractor must supply lighted safety barricades, at his/her own expense, as directed by the Township inspector. The contractor is responsible for making all PA One Calls. All workers must wear ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Level III safety vests. No separate payment shall be made for this item. o Contractor MUST have one English-speaking foreman with each crew working in the field. o Site mix trucks are NOT permitted. o Where the marked limits of concrete replacement are not at an existing expansion joint, the concrete must be saw cut full depth to create a clean vertical joint. No separate payment shall be made for saw cuts. o Excavated concrete is to be IMMEDIATELY hauled away and not to be used as backfill. No excavated material is permitted to be placed in the street. o Screened suitable top soil must be used in all lawn areas (minimum of 6 inches). o Contractor must keep work areas free from debris daily. Debris cannot be stored on the roadway. Debris may be stored in a dumpster or truck that is properly covered and protected during evening hours with the required barricades. No TRASH may be put in the excavation hole. All trash must be removed from the job site on a daily basis. o Stone, form materials, and appurtenant tools to be left on site only when approved by the Township inspector. All material must be protected by lighted barricades. The use of cones, reflective tape, and caution tape is also required. NO EQUIPMENT storage will be permitted on Township streets. On-time completion is critical due to the timing of the paving of these streets. a) CONCRETE SIDEWALK REPLACEMENTS - Sidewalk marked with white paint shall be measured prior to removal by the Contractor with the inspector. This work shall include excavation for and placement of a 4" compacted depth 2b stone base under all sidewalks, as well as placement and curing of PennDOT Class AA concrete (3,750 PSI). All poured concrete shall be cured by applying a Township-approved curing/sealing compound (Aquron CPT 2000). Sidewalk at driveways to be 6" depth and reinforced with 6" x 6" x 10 gauge welded wire fabric with 6" 2B stone compacted. A copy of the specs is attached. If the nearest existing joint is not an expansion joint, a saw shall be used to cut the joint as specified by the Township's inspector. An expansion joint shall be added to both ends of this area. If it is necessary to excavate a paved driveway in order to replace sidewalk, the driveway shall be saw cut, excavated to a distance of 2' minimum from the sidewalk, and temporarily backfilled with 2-A material compacted (see Paragraph g). After a 2-week minimum concrete curing period, the driveway shall be restored as specified below. b) CONCRETE CURB REPLACEMENTS: Curbs (both 18" and depressed) marked with white paint are to be removed by the contractor to the nearest existing joint, or to be saw cut to create a new joint as specified by the Township inspector. Paved surfaces must be saw cut, excavated to a minimum distance of 18" from the face of the curb, and backfilled with 4" 2-B material under the curb with the road surface after compaction. Full height steel forms must be used at both front & back of poured curb, except when pouring against an existing driveway apron, in which case only a front form shall be used. Driveway depressed curbs shall be replaced within 48 hours of the excavation of the old curb. Depressed curb at the apron must have 1/2 " to 3/4 " slope from back to front. It must only have a 1" to 1 1/2" reveal at the street. Depressed curb must be full 18" in depth. All poured concrete shall be cured by applying a Township-approved curing/ sealing compound (Aquron CPT 2000). Depressed curb must have two #5 5/8" vertical rebar. See details. c) CONCRETE APRON REPLACEMENTS: Concrete aprons, or portions thereof, shall be replaced where marked with white paint or as directed by the Township's inspector in cases where an apron is either monolithic with a curb to be replaced or where the height of a new curb depression will not match the existing apron. This work item shall include excavation for and placement of a 6" compacted depth 2b stone base as well as placement & curing of 6" depth Class AA concrete (3,750 PSI), reinforced with 6" x 6" x 10 gauge welded wire fabric. All poured concrete shall be cured by applying a Township-approved curing/ sealing compound (Aquron CPT 2000). d) SAW CUTTING FACE OF EXISTING CURBS: Existing curbs that have concrete projecting past the curb face into the road must be saw cut as directed by the Township's Inspector. Such a curb must be saw cut along its front face to a depth of at least 4" below the existing road surface in order to separate this excess concrete from the main curb. No separate payment shall be made for this item. e) SAW CUTTING OF EXISTING CONCRETE DRIVEWAY APRONS: Where the driveway curb must be replaced, in some cases, the existing concrete apron extends past the projected back face of the adjoining existing curb. Where directed by the Township's inspector, the contractor shall saw cut the existing apron through its full depth to provide a suitably aligned back form for the pouring of the new driveway curb. No separate payment shall be made for this item. f) LAWN RESTORATIONS: Contractor is responsible for final restoration of disturbed lawn areas, including backfilling with 6" screened suitable top soil, fine grading, tamping, and applying PennDOT B mix grass seed & straw mulch. No separate payment shall be made for this item. g) DRIVEWAY RESTORATIONS: Contractor is responsible for final restoration of paved driveways, including saw cutting of existing driveway to a distance of 2' behind the back of sidewalk, 11 1/2" depth excavation, placement of 8" 2-A material compacted & paving with a minimum 2" compacted depth of 19.0mm and 1 1/2" compacted 9.5mm. The contractor must use a plate tamper to ensure the material is properly compacted. All edges to be tack-coated. All joints need to be sealed with PG-6422. Your cost of concrete apron replacements must include the cost to restore any driveways. No separate payment shall be made for this item. lOCATIONS- Bell Lane Temple Drive Cul de sac Broad Street Susquehanna Road Gentlemen's Way Camphill Road 1296 Camp Hill Rd Susquehanna Road Chestnut Avenue Girard Avenue Chelsea Avenue Friends Lane Meetinghouse Road Cul de sac Ft.
