Renovation of a civil project in Farmington, New Mexico. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The need for a portable pump station with generators aligns with the natural growth of the City of Farmington and will also provide great advantages in the event of an emergency. Currently pumps and generators are rented in the event of a severe water shortage to divert water from the San Juan River to Water Treatment Plant #1. The trailer mounted pumps and generator would address the emergencies and help bridge the need for a permanent pump station on the San Juan River until the volume of diversion warrants a permanent pump station. A city owned trailer mounted pump and generator system could also be designed to bypass pump stations allowing for minimal or uninterrupted service during planned maintenance or in the event of an emergency. The project is included in the City's 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 17, 2025, project is funded for FY2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
