Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Farmington, New Mexico. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
With the ever-growing call volumes for emergency services, a station on the north side of the Animas River would expedite services to the community from the geographic boundaries with station #4 located on the south side of the river. This will also provide an extra level of protection to the river trail corridor to assist in the protection of the city's investment along the river trails and water enthusiast. We recognize the need for the prioritization of the building of a station in the area of San Juan Blvd and Tucker. This station and crews will focus on the outdoor activities in the area, including Animas River Trails, while also providing Fire and EMS response in their response district which would assist with high call volumes in three other station districts. This station will reduce emergency response times in three districts, improving situational outcomes. The project is included in the City's 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 18, 2025, project is on the FY2027-2031 Future Conceptual Project Wishlist. Not funded yet. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
