Demolition and renovation of a civil project in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.

Brooklyn Bridge Park seeks to hire a qualified General/Marine Contractor for the rehabilitation of the marine structures at Empire Fulton Ferry and Fulton Ferry Landing within the Park, as well as the removal of a Transfer Bridge at Pier 4. The structural repairs at Empire Fulton Ferry include applying epoxy grout for pile repairs, replacing deteriorated concrete and cleaning steel for substructure repairs, and replacing compressible material and flowable fill at the Bulkhead. The repairs at Fulton Ferry Landing involve filling voids and sinkholes at the East Bulkhead, repairing steel sheets, repairing spalls and filling grout on concrete pile caps on the pier, and replacing the reinforced concrete encasement at the Gravity wall. The demolition and removal of the Pier 4 Transfer Bridge will be performed entirely from the waterside using barge-mounted equipment, and all timber and steel materials will be removed to the mudline. The scope of work will take place in completed sections of the park that are open and populated by the public, and the convenience and safety of the public is a priority. Pile repairs will repair sections with exposed reinforcement and apply epoxy grout encasements to address erosion. Substructure repairs will involve chipping and replacing deteriorated concrete, restoring reinforcement cover with shotcrete or mortar, and cleaning/coating corroded expansion joint steel. Bulkhead work will replace the lost compressible material between the bulkhead and deck soffit to prevent further fill loss, while voids behind the top of the sheeting will be backfilled or pumped with flowable fill. (B) FULTON FERRY LANDING REHABILITATION This project addresses deteriorated marine structures at Fulton Ferry. At the East Bulkhead, repairs will include filling voids and sinkholes behind corroded steel sheet piles, recoating deteriorated areas, closing holes in the sheets, and repairing spalls in the concrete cap. At Fulton Ferry Landing Pier, repairs will reinstate lost grout between deck planks and pile caps, and repair cracked and delaminated edge beams. For the Concrete Gravity Wall, deteriorated concrete will be removed, and a reinforced concrete encasement will be installed along its full length, extending below the mudline to restore structural integrity and protect against further erosion and undermining. An alternate will be included for the addition of (33) piles needing preventative pile repairs.C) PIER 4 TRANSFER BRIDGE REMOVAL The proposed work includes the demolition and removal of the existing timber and steel transfer bridge structure located at the eastern end of Bird Island in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
