The existing 36-Inch concrete culvert pipe is to be replaced with a 48-inch reinforced concrete culvert pipe. Additional work includes excavation and fill for culvert replacement, base aggregate dense, riprap placement, and asphaltic surface paving. The project length is 100' long. The culvert is submerged underwater, so dewatering will be required. Sheet piling coffer dams are anticipated to be needed, but specific dewatering methods are to be determined by the contractor. Water levels controlled by the local dam operators are expected to recede in February and March, which could greatly reduce dewatering efforts required. Contractors are encouraged to complete culvert replacement and in-stream work prior to March 14th to take advantage of low water levels, if deemed fiscally advantageous. Items of work include consists of removing small culvert pipe, excavation for structures culverts, base aggregate dense, heavy riprap, borrow, installing Culvert Pipe Reinforced Concrete Class III 48-Inch, finishing items, erosion control items, traffic control, and any incidental items necessary to complete the work. All material and work performed shall be in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Standard Specifications and the Project's Special Provisions.
