Renovation of a fire / police facility in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The scope of work is the replacement of five existing garage doors (bay doors) located on the north side of the Bonner Springs Fire Station at 13001 Metropolitan, Bonner Springs, Kansas. The doors are 18’ 2” x 14’ 0” and the work includes all new hardware as needed and, based on the performance of the current door openers, new door openers. The doors are designed with 5 panels across horizontally and 7 panels vertically. The new doors should have glass in panels 2, 3, and 4 from the bottom up, and solid panels for 1, 5, 6, and 7. Bidders are required to inspect the location before submitting a bid and must submit their bids on the attached Bid Form in a sealed envelope marked “Fire Station Garage Doors.” Each bid must include a bid security in an amount of five percent (5%) of the bidder’s maximum bid price, either as a certified/bank check or a bid bond. The cost of all required insurance, bonds, and licenses must be included in the bid. The City reserves the right to select work items based on available budget authority and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 25% based on unit prices bid. This is a tax-exempt project and a project exemption certificate will be secured for the successful bidder. The successful bidder, and all subcontractors, must obtain an occupational license from the City Clerk’s office before a Notice to Proceed will be issued. Required documentation includes a certificate of insurance naming the City as an additional insured, general liability and workers’ compensation insurance with specified limits, a performance bond, a maintenance/warranty bond with a two-year warranty, and, if the bid exceeds $100,000, a statutory bond filed with the Clerk of the District Court, Wyandotte County. All work must conform to the requirements and specifications provided. Bids must be received by the deadline specified and late bids will not be considered. All bids are irrevocable for 30 days after the deadline. Substantial completion is required within 14 working days, and all work must be finished within 30 working days. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, negotiate with qualified bidders, and waive informalities or irregularities.
