Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of August 4,2025 Project was awarded to Phillips Paving with the amount of $518,325,40 Bids received for any project after the specified time will be returned unopened to the sender. Bids will be evaluated by the City based on price, quality, experience of the Contractor, responsiveness of the contractor, adaptability of the particular materials and equipment to the specific use intended and conformity to specifications. The City reserves the right to select the bid that best suits its need whether the price is the lowest or not and reserves the right to reject all bids or waive informalities. The project includes a Milling and Overlay of approximately 48648 Square Yards of City Streets, and pavement markings. Included in the project is 100 square yards of full-depth 4" patching and 100 square yards of full depth 6" patching if needed. All Traffic Control and resident notices are the responsibility of the Contractor. The City reserves the right to request up to 100 ton of asphalt millings to be delivered to the Public Works yard located at 12401 Kaw Drive in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Questions concerning this request are to be directed to: o Matt Beets, Deputy Director of Public Works (office-913-441-1961) o Jimmy Denton, Street Superintendent (office-913-441-1961) Monday, August 25, 2024 Award by City Council Work shall be completed as specified below and in the specifications and requirements. The contractor shall be responsible for all traffic control, temporary detours if required, signage as necessary, and public notification (24-48 hours). Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the City of Bonner Springs in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder's maximum bid price and the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid bond issued by a Surety. The City reserves the right to select the work items in the Bid based on available budget authority. The City further reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by twenty-five (25) percent based on unit prices bid. The successful bidder and all subs must obtain an occupational license from the City Clerk's office before a Notice to Proceed will be issued. This is a tax-exempt project and the City Clerk's Office will secure a tax exemption certificate for the successful bidder. V. Insurance and Bond Requirements. The successful bidder shall provide a certificate of insurance that names the City of Bonner Springs as an additional insured to the City Clerk's Office. The General Liability and Workmen's Compensation limits shall be $500,000 for each occurrence and $1,000,000 for the general aggregate. The successful bidder shall secure a statutory bond in the total amount of the work to be completed if the awarded bid is greater than $100,000. The statutory bond shall be filed with the Clerk of the District Court, Wyandotte County, and the original filed statutory bond and receipt provided to the City Clerk. In addition, the insurer shall agree to give a minimum of thirty (30) days' notice prior to their decision to cancel coverage. The City reserves the right to select the work items in the Bid based on available budget authority. The successful bidder shall provide a signed written statement to perform the work and provide a TWO (2)-year warranty. Substantial completion shall be completed within 30 Working Days. All work shall be completed within 45 Working Days.
