Site work, paving, environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, outdoor lighting and renovation of a library in Miami, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,811-square-foot, three-story above grade library.
Coconut Grove Branch Library Interior and Exterior Improvements The Miami-Dade Public Library System requires construction services from a prime contractor for interior and exterior improvements of the existing Coconut Grove Branch Library building, approximately 7,899 square feet. The work includes furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and incidentals necessary for demolition and improvements in accordance with the City of Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board and construction documents. Renovation upgrades include MEP upgrades, exterior site improvements and waterproofing, addition of a passenger elevator for ADA accessibility, replacement of windows/doors for impact resistant windows/doors, interior remodel, new landscaping and improvements to the Eva Munroe gravesite, and repainting the interior/exterior to match the approved color chart. The project must be completed in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, and federal grants. The contractor is required to coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction, secure all permits, and protect all existing site features. All work must result in a fully functional and modernized library facility, with experience in similar projects and LEED certification strongly preferred. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all permits, reviewing all documents and addenda, and providing a Tree Protection Bond and Certificate to Dig within 30 days of the building permit. The contractor must comply with city code for historically designated properties and indemnify the County. Insurance requirements include Worker’s Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, Pollution Liability, Umbrella Liability, and Builders’ Risk Insurance. Certificates of insurance, as specified, must be furnished to Miami-Dade County & Miami-Dade Public Library System. All insurance must be provided by companies authorized in Florida and rated by A.M.
