Demolition, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Alhambra, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 17,000-square-foot, two-story above grade clubhouse / community center; and two-story above grade municipal facility.

Scope of work includes providing special inspection services and material testing throughout the duration of construction for the Alhambra Community Center Project. The project involves partial demolition of an existing 2-story building and converting the retained west wing into community uses and offices. The new east wing addition will include multipurpose rooms, event space, roof deck, and support spaces, totaling approximately 17,000 square feet. The City of Alhambra seeks proposals from qualified firms capable of delivering these services for the specified construction phase. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed and labeled envelope, with the fee proposal in a separate, sealed envelope. The outside of the proposal package must be prominently marked with "N2M25-176 – SPECIAL INSPECTION SERVICES FOR ALHAMBRA COMMUNITY CENTER" along with the submitter’s name and address. Complete written proposals are required, and responses received after the deadline will not be evaluated. All inquiries must be submitted in writing to the specified email addresses. Structural Steel & Welding o Visual welding inspection o Bolting inspection o Shop/field inspection contribution o Estimated Hours: ~104 hours D. Seismic / Wood Framing Inspection o Shear wall nailing inspection o Framing observation o Hold-down anchorage o Estimated Hours: ~96 hours E. Miscellaneous Field Testing o Epoxy/expansion anchor torque/pull testing o Light-gauge steel periodic inspection o Waterproofing observation o Estimated Hours: ~120 hours F. Laboratory Services o Concrete compressive testing o Masonry grout & mortar testing o Rebar tensile/bend testing (#3-#11) o Bolt/anchor mechanical testing as required o Lab engineering oversight & reporting o Estimated: 65 units + 69 engineering hours
