Water Main Replacement for 7th Street from Valley Blvd to Shorb Street in the City of Alhambra. The project replaces the existing six-inch cast iron water main with a new 12-inch ductile iron pipe water main. Water services and hydrants will be constructed as part of the water main replacements. The contractor shall complete the work within sixty (60) calendar days of the effective date of the city's notice to proceed with construction. Bids must be prepared on the approved proposal forms in conformance with the instructions to bidders and submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside, and accompanied by a bid bond made payable to the City of Alhambra for an amount not less than ten percent of the amount bid. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Business and Professions Code. The successful contractor and subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the city. Prior to beginning work, the contractor must possess a valid California Class A or C-34 license. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty calendar days. The city will deduct five percent retention from all progress payments.
