Remodeling of a fire / police facility in Bend, Oregon. Completed plans call for the remodel of a fire / police facility.
The City of Bend (City) invites Sealed Bids for construction of three (3) Bend Fire & Rescue Station Kitchen Remodels. The Project aims to replace and upgrade existing casework, countertops, appliances, window, and sink fixtures to enhance functionality, safety, and long-term durability in the kitchen areas. The Project will be completed in three (3) phases, one facility per year. Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory pre-bid conference and walk-through of all three locations listed below will be held starting at 9:00 AM on January 6, 2026 at the first facility located at 1212 SW Simpson Avenue, Bend, OR. Only Bidders who attend and register at the pre-bid meeting shall be eligible to submit a Bid. Statements made by City representatives at the pre-bid conference are not binding on the City unless confirmed in an addendum. 1. 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM - West Station 301, 1212 SW Simpson Ave, Bend, OR 97702 2. 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM - South Station 303, 6108 Country Club Dr, Bend, OR 97702 3. 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM - East Station 304, 62420 Hamby Rd, Bend, OR 97701 Issuing Officer for the project is Loni Brandjes, Procurement Analyst, 541-323-8572 Any questions including technical questions must be directed to the Issuing Officer and are encouraged to be submitted via the Portal by clicking on the Messages, Vendor Discussions tab of the desired solicitation. The City's written response to Questions and/or Requests for Clarification will be posted on the Portal. City must receive requests for changes, in writing, a minimum of ten working days prior to the deadline for submitting a Bid. Questions after the specified date to submit questions must be submitted to the Issuing Officer directly. Responses to questions received less than five business days prior to the deadline forsubmitting Bids will be at the discretion of the City. Please contact the Issuing Officer for accessibility options. The Project consists of comprehensive renovation of Bend Fire & Rescue Stations 301, 303, and 304 Kitchens. The Work includes replacing and upgrading existing casework, countertops, appliances, and sink fixtures that have seen wear to enhance functionality, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen area. Each Phase will consist of: 1. DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL: 1.1.Demolition 1.1.1. Carefully remove and dispose of existing kitchen casework, countertops, appliances, hood, sink fixtures, and kitchen window. 1.1.2. Coordinate acceptable hours of operation to carry out the work asto not interfere with their functions. 1.2.Removal 1.2.1. Ensure proper disposal of all debris in compliance with local regulations and environmental standards. 1.3.Clean Up 1.3.1. The contractor is responsible for cleaning all areas where demo has occurred. Areas to receive new appliances, casework, etc. should be free of debris. This also includes any room, pathway and access point used for the purpose of demolition and removal. 2. WINDOW: 2.1.Supply and install new kitchen window, interior trim and exterior trim. 2.2.Contractor responsible for verifying window measurements and following manufacturer's installation instructions. Contractor responsible for providing all necessary parts, fasteners, adhesives and vapor barriers. Contractor responsible for any framing and drywall modifications. 2.2.1. Supply and install Milgard V400 Tuscany single hung 6/6 Lite, Adobe color both sides. 2.2.2. Interior Trim clear Hemlock, natural tone with Satin Lacquer finish. 2.2.3. Exterior trim primed and painted to match original. 3. CASEWORK - Wood & Laminate: 3.1.Supply and install new kitchen casework including base cabinets, wall cabinets, and any necessary cabinetry components. Refer to Exhibit G for examples of newest kitchen installation. 3.2.New casework will be durable, easy to clean, and designed for high-usage environments. 3.3.The Contractor is responsible for verifying all dimensions in the field.3.4.Provide shop drawings for Bend Fire to review. The shop drawing submittal shall be approved prior to fabrication. 3.5.All appliances that land within the casework shall be coordinated in the shop drawings. 3.6.WOOD & LAMINATE Casework items to include: 3.6.1. Island - Complete new 70" x 48" unit with large pull-out drawers on both sides. Note: Butcher Block counter to be salvaged, refurbished and reused. 3.6.2. New upper Cabinets - Approx 22 LF upper cabinets. 3.6.3. New Lower Cabinets - Approx 22 LF new lower cabinets. 3.6.4. New Double Oven Cabinet - Approx 30" unit. 3.6.5. New uppers above fridges - New approx. 9' 7 3/4 " unit. 3.6.6. New 45-60-degree open corner shelving unit right of refrigerator uppers, same height. 3.6.7. New Storage/Pantry cabinet with 6 doors - Approx 72" unit. Microwave will not be built in and will sit on the countertop. 3.6.8. Delivery & Installation. 3.7.Construction of the cabinets to include: 3.7.1. 3/4 " pre-finish maple plywood boxes, or equivalent. 3.7.2. Laminated clad ClassicCore plywood doors and drawer faces. 3.7.3. Let-in drawer box construction with ApplePly and top round-over. 3.7.4. Large format Route in door and drawer pulls in lieu of hardware. 3.7.5. Door and drawer pull material/color - Plastic/Black 3.7.6. Large pull-out drawers for island. 3.7.7. 100 lbs. side mount ball bearing slides. 3.7.8. 176-degree hinges for all doors EXCLUDING upper over refrigerators. 3.7.9. 110-degree hinges for cabinets above refrigerators. 3.7.10. 2ml edge banding. 3.7.11. Provide split pantry doors. 3.7.12. Shorter uppers above ADA sink, approximately 7-10" shorter than adjacent uppers. 3.7.13. New cabinet doors below ADA sink for knee clearance, front and side approach. Omit toe kick so wheelchair can roll under. 3.7.14. Laminate Color Selections 3.7.14.1. Wilsonart New Age Oak 7938-38. All uppers including pantry doors left of oven. 3.7.14.2. Wilsonart Twilight Zephyr 4845-60. All lowers not including pantry or island. 3.7.14.3. Wilsonart Slate Grey D91-60. Island cabinets. 4. CASEWORK - Stainless Steel: 4.1.Supply and install new Stainless Steel kitchen casework including base cabinets, wall cabinets, and any necessary components. Refer to Exhibit G for examples of newest kitchen installation. 4.2.New metal casework should be commercial grade Stainless Steel that is durable, easy to clean, and designed for high-use environments.3.4.Provide shop drawings for Bend Fire to review. The shop drawing submittal shall be approved prior to fabrication. 3.5.All appliances that land within the casework shall be coordinated in the shop drawings. 3.6.WOOD & LAMINATE Casework items to include: 3.6.1.
