The City of Lorain is requesting quotes for the 2026 Mow Down Season. The Mow Down Program aims to mitigate, reduce, and prevent blight, illegal dumping, and high grass complaints for City-owned vacant properties. The mowing season runs from April through September/October as weather allows. The first cut and debris removal must be completed no later than Friday, May 1, 2026, and be maintained every 14 days, with parcels not maintained any earlier than 14 days from the first cut. A spreadsheet listing the properties included in the program is provided. All quotes must be delivered on the provided quote sheet addressing all parcels in the program, and all prices must be firm for the entire 2026 mowing season unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon by the Department of Building, Housing, and Planning and the Contractor. The selected company must provide Certification of Contractor, Business Registration Form, W9, Performance Bond, and State of Ohio certifications for Industrial omission and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation for the season period. Time-stamped before and after photos of all cuts must be submitted with each invoice. The City of Lorain reserves the right to reject any or all quotes. Quotes must be submitted by the specified deadline and late quotes will not be accepted. The company with the lowest and best quote will be selected.
