Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Greenville, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Bids will be received via PennBid until 10:00 a.m. local time on January 15, 2026 for Repairs of Bridge 1916 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. It is proposed, after execution of the contract, to begin work on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed or as otherwise provided in the specifications and after that specified date to prosecute all of said work so as to complete it by May 20, 2026. Bids must be submitted electronically via the PennBid portal. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted electronically via the "Ask a Question" feature in PennBid. Registered bidders will be notified by email when an addendum has been posted. A summary of bids received will be issued by the posting agency via a Public Notice on PennBid shortly after the due date. It should be noted that bid results are subject to further review and should not be construed as issuance of an award. The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all submissions or parts thereof to waive any informality. This work is the removal and satisfactory disposal of portion of the existing bridge as indicated on the drawings or as specified by the Department. This work consists of placing new barrier concrete as indicated on the Drawings to eliminate open deflection joints in existing concrete bridge barriers. This work consists of repairing deteriorated areas of concrete using either conventional (form and place) or shotcrete methods. This work consisted of constructing partially grouted riprap (PGR) countermeasures around bridge abutments in-the-dry conditions in accordance with PennDOT Standard Specification Publication 408. PGR construction involves furnishing and placing rock riprap at designated locations shown in the Contract Drawings and project Special Provisions. The riprap is placed on top of a filter layer consisting of a geotextile fabric and a granular material. The voids of the riprap are then partially filled with a Portland cement-based grout by hose or tremie placement technique. The final configuration results in a partially grouted layer that retains approximately one-half to two-thirds of the void space of the original placement configuration. This work is the furnishing, placement, maintenance, and removal of compost filter sock, erosion control blanket, rock construction entrance, compost sock washout, temporary seeding, and permanent seeding as required by the project impacts according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Program Manual. Questions Related to This Proposal Should Be Directed to the Mercer County Bridge Department via Pennbid at Least Seven Days Prior to Opening of Bids. Question Deadline 01/08/2026
